Work with a general contractor who values your craft

Why trade partners choose A.R. Mays

We know that the best subcontractors have options, and we work hard to be the general contractor they want to build with. As a 100% employee-owned company, every project manager, superintendent, and estimator at A.R. Mays has a personal stake in the success of every project — which means organized jobsites, clear communication, professional coordination, and a team that respects the people doing the work.

Consistent bid flow across 20 market sectors

We build across 20 commercial construction sectors—hospitality, tribal, industrial, multifamily, retail, office, education, public projects, and more. That range keeps our pipeline full year-round, which means consistent bid opportunities for qualified trade partners. We're active throughout Arizona, California, and the greater Southwest.

No shortcuts on safety

Safety isn't a policy here. It's a promise. Everyone on an A.R. Mays jobsite goes home the same way they came in. We run site-specific safety programs, conduct regular toolbox talks and audits, and expect every trade partner to match that standard. No exceptions.

How we run a jobsite

Our trade partners are held to the same safety expectations we set for ourselves. Proper training. Proper PPE. Full OSHA compliance. No one works on an A.R. Mays jobsite without completing a site orientation first. Unsafe behavior gets addressed immediately. The standard is simple: safe, professional, and organized; every project, every day.
